Looking for a Higher Standard?

Just like we should be mindful of the food we eat, we should also take into consideration what we put on the largest organ of the body, our skin! Creams, lotions, face wash, and scrubs we place on our skin sinks directly into our blood stream, so unlike the food we eat, which is digested and eventually (hopefully) exported out, substances that migrate into our blood stream, make it difficult for our bodies to rid of of anything that is unrecognizable, such as toxins.

Here are some key words or labels to look for when purchasing skin and beauty care items as a better choice ;100% natural ingredients, certified organic, USDA organic, soil association organic, vegan, paraben free. Products with these seals or labels, will not contain synthetic chemicals, such as sulfates, phthalates, petrochemicals, fragrances,  dyes, or Parabens.

Parabens, are substances that are often used as preservatives, in a variety of skin care products. When reading labels, look for any ingredient with the word Paraben, or these catch phrases (Methyl, Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl). Parabens are a concern for a number of reasons, they can cause skin reactions, breakouts, and inflammation. Parabens mimic estrogen in the body which causes hormonal disruption and imbalance. Parabens have also been linked to system toxicity, and breast cancer tumors. For people blessed with a  sensitive constitution, (including myself)  more likely then not, this will include your skin  I recommend you avoid all parabens, since this will cause multiple allergies.

Everyone should become aware of what they are placing on there skin. Look for natural and organic alternatives to traditional beauty products. Get real about your health, take time to learn about different options,  more then likely you will not be spot on all of the time, but start caring about what you use as food for your skin, you will feel better knowing you have made a better choice!

To your beauty!
