Life Changes and 6 Must Have Beauty Foods

Is anyone else experience massive change in their life right now? It seems that everyone I talk to at the moment has something major happening or every area in their life is being tested on some level .Perhaps its due to the blood moon that occurred last week! Whatever it is, its best to surrender then try to fight it! :)  Change is constant, but we as human beings tend to look at change as scary, simply because we don’t know what is on the other side.  YES change can be scary but what’s worse is staying in a mediocre place of existence! When life is forcing you to change, this is a sign of self growth and with a simple perspective shift, change can and should be celebrated! The challenging part is getting from that middle area onto the other side where one can cozy into the “new normal”. Today I share 3 tips to help with a peaceful way through the transition time of change!

 1. Breathe! Believe it or not, proper breathing is one of the fastest ways to calm the mind and the nervous system. Your days will become a complete different experience, just by intentional breathing. Breathing exercise: Take your thumb and your index finger, place your thumb on your right nostril and close shut, take a breath in with your left nostril, hold for 30 seconds then close the left nostril with your index finger and breath out through your right. Switch to the other side,  breathe in through your right nostril, close with thumb and breathe out through left nostril. continue for 5 to 8 breaths. This is an easy breathing exercise that can be done anywhere, I find this is helpful while driving or anytime I need to relax in an instant!
2. Journal- writing down your thoughts is another great way to calm your mind. Journaling helps you to hear yourself and also can be a useful tool for decision making. The answers are within us, but can become buried beneath the noise of everyday life. The physical act of writing helps connect the brain with the body, which allows your mind to open up. Surprising ideas, wisdom and insight come from journaling, all areas that need to be nourished and strengthened in times of change.

3. Nutrition-  When your body is under chronic stress or anxiety it becomes out of balance and eventually the endocrine system is affected. These foods naturally calm the nervous system:

Whey: Rich in L-tryptophan and other healing amino acids. Tryptophan has been known to assist in the production of serotonin, a hormone that regulates the nervous system, digestive and blood health.

Bananas:
Containing magnesium, vitamin B6, and other nutrients that promote feelings of happiness and calm inside the body. Eating bananas also aids in the production of serotonin and melatonin, two hormones that regulate mood and sleeping patterns, and promote muscle relaxation and stress relief.

Sweet Potatoes: 
A complex carbohydrate food that contains high levels of vitamin A, vitamin C, and B vitamins, sweet potatoes are another nutritionally-dense food that can help calm your nerves, eliminate stress, and even lower your blood pressure.

Cocoa (Dark Chocolate):
Chocolate contains the bliss ingredient anandamide, loaded with PEA (love chemicals) that has the ability to alter dopamine levels in the brain, causing a sense of peace and relaxation. It also contains magnesium, chromium, iron and manganese all promoting restfulness and a sense of calm.

Green Tea: 
Sometimes the best way to relieve pressure is to sit and enjoy a cup of hot tea, green tea contains an amino acid known as L-theanine that enhances mood by stimulating the production of alpha waves in the brain. L-theanine also helps reduce stress and promote relaxation naturally.

Spinach: 
your body needs a high input of fat-soluble vitamins that contribute to the building up of the fatty layers that protect your nerves from damage. And one such vitamin is vitamin K, which you can get in high amounts by eating spinach. Spinach also helps regulate the production of hormones in the nervous system to improve mood, sleeping patterns, and the body’s response to physical activity and stress.
